I decided for 2011 that this was going to be a new kind of a year. I am going to manifest the things that I truly want in my life instead of complaining about them. At least, I'm trying to. I really want to manifest some great things this year, but I figured I would try to manifest something small.
Last week, I decided that I wanted to manifest $100 by this past Sunday (today is Thursday). I figured I would use it for extra gas money. I put it out there in the Universe and just expected that it would be there by Sunday. However, it never showed up. I just made a mental note of it and moved on.
As I stated, we got really bad snow down here in Atlanta, and since the city of Atlanta apparently doesn't know how to handle it, I have not been able to go to work all week. I've just been working from home. While I was home, I found my old planner and inside were two checks that I forgot to cash. They were very small checks, but still checks nonetheless.
So, mail pickup has been suspended all week but finally picked up yesterday. When I went to the mailbox, there was a refund check in the mail. That was sort of a surprise. I expected I would be receiving it at some point, but I didn't think it would be so soon. Then I received another refund check in the mail today. Here's the breakdown of the checks I found/received:
- $4.00
- $7.51
- $63.90
- $30.00
That's a total of $105.41!!!!
The ironic part is, even though I didn't get the money by this past Sunday, I didn't need it (extra gas money) because I got stuck in the house all week. Now, I have a little extra gas money for next week!
This has definitely renewed my faith in the LOA (God).

2011 Snow
Aww man. I've been hit hard with snow these past few weeks.
When I was in Virginia Beach visiting my mom, we got a lot of snow there. I wanted to drive my mom back to Atlanta so that she could see my new house. The snow was so bad, we never got a chance to come down. She's going to make a trip down in a few weeks.
Now, Atlanta gets hit with snow this past weekend. Apparently, no one told Atlanta that you need to treat the snow/ice BEFORE it snows and not after. So, they brought in a bunch of additional snow trucks to help with the snow. However, the trucks didn't shovel the snow when it was actually snowing. These geniuses decided to wait until after it snowed and froze over to then get the shovels and salt out. Needless to say it's been a clusterf*ck ever since then. The schools have been shut down every day this week, and will be shut down again tomorrow, which is Thursday. That's mainly because the temperatures have not even reached to above freezing.
I saw the UPS man and the mail truck today. I made the mistake of asking the mail woman how the roads were. She said they weren't too bad. So, I go out in my truck and try to make a run for it...mainly because I'm going stir crazy.
THIS chick. I don't know what her idea of not that bad is, but the road I went down was HORRIBLE. This is the main road I need to take to get to the highway. It was covered with ice and snow like it had just happened. I almost slid into the ditch. Then when I went to make a u-turn, I almost got stuck in the ice. Needless to say I carried my butt on home. Looks like I won't be heading out of here until it warms up sometime this weekend.
I'm just glad I didn't lose power. I've been pretty lucky on that end. I have food, heat and electricity, so I'm not doing too bad.
Too bad I didn't think to buy liquor.
Damn.
